Area Status: Open
This area is Open

The Pacific Crest Trail northbound from I-90 at Snoqualmie Pass.

NOTE! Log removal will take place on September 13, 14 and 20 on the Pacific Crest Trail north of Snoqualmie Pass. Explosives will be used to remove large trees from the trail. Travelers on the trail can expect delays of up to 1 hour. Trail guards will be posted to prevent travelers from entering the blast zones. Work on Sept 13 and 14 will take place between Spectacle Lake and Lemah Meadows. On September 20 crews will remove a large tree approximately 4 miles north of Snoqualmie Pass.

The bridge across Delate Creek on the Pacific Crest trail is impassable to stock due to a large washout and some blowdown. The bridge has been signed and signs are posted at the Pete Lake trailheads.  WARNING TO STOCK USERS -- you can’t get to the Spectacle Lake Trail or Park Lakes Basin.

Those planning to travel across the Chickamin Traverse are advised it is a difficult portion of the trail and very difficult for stock. No places for pack strings to pass for 4 miles. In the spring and fall it is advised to carry crampons and ice axes.

The segment of trail between Cathedral and Deception Passes has several areas which are extremely difficult to pass through. To bypass the Mt. Daniel Ford take a detour using Cathedral Pass Trail 1345 and Deception Pass Trail 1376.

The south Lemah Creek bridge is washed out. The ford is passable for hikers, stock should detour via Pete Lake Trail #1323 and Lemah Meadow Trail #1323.2. A section of tread just south of the Delate Creek bridge is washed out and not passable to stock.
