Gold Creek Pond Nature Trail #1250

This paved accessible trail provides exceptional distant views of the Gold Creek Valley and Chikamin Peak in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. On a clear day you can see the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail traversing the headwaters of Gold Creek. This barrier-free interpretive trail loops around the pond. Enjoy beautiful views of the Gold Creek Valley and take advantage of the ample opportunities for wildlife viewing, especially in the evenings. Find a large picnic area at the pond with tables and fire grates.  Look for signs of beaver activity.  Gold Creek Trail #1314 is nearby.

General Information

Directions:

From Cle Elum, take I-90 west for about 28 miles to Hyak exit #54. Take this exit, head north and turn right on Forest Service Road #4832 that parallels the north side of the freeway. Drive 1.0 mile, turn left on Gold Creek road #142 and turn left in 0.3 mile into the Gold Creek Pond parking lot.

From North Bend, take I-90 east for about 24 miles to the Hyak exit #54. Take this exit, head north and turn right on Forest Service Road #4832 that parallels the north side of the freeway. Drive 1.0 mile, turn left on Gold Creek road #142 and turn left in 0.3 mile into the Gold Creek Pond parking lot.
