Church Creek Shelter Trail #870

Area Status: Open

This short steep trail winds through old growth forest to the Church Creek Shelter on the bank of South Fork Skokomish River. The historic shelter is a nice day use spot and provides cover from the weather. The shelter is about a mile from the trailhead. No amenities available. 

Alert!: Access to the South Fork Skokokmish River requires fording of the swift South Fork Skokomish River. Extreme caution advised.

General Information

Directions:

From Shelton, WA take US Highway 101 for 6 miles north. Then turn west onto the Skokomish Valley Road. Follow Skokomish Valley Road for about 8 miles to the forest boundary. Then continue on Forest Service Road 23 for about another 8 miles. Then stay right on Forest Road 2361 and follow for about 4 miles to the trailhead, just past the turn off for the 600 spur road. Trailhead is on the right along Forest Road 2361.
