Gray Wolf Trail #834 - Lower


Lower Gray Wolf trail meets the Gray Wolf River.

This trail travels through dense hardwoods and conifers along the Gray Wolf River. This scenic canyon contains spring blooming native rhododendrons. This section of the Gray Wolf Trail is 4.2 miles to the former bridge site and end of trail. Grades up to 15%.  This trail offers access to fishing areas along the Gray Wolf River. This trail enters Buckhorn Wilderness

To access Upper Gray Wolf Trail 834.2 and Olympic National Park take Slab Camp Trail #838 to the bridge over the Gray Wolf River.

At a Glance

Current Conditions: 1/15/2018: Visitor report there are many trees and branches down across the road and the trail, especially on the Cat Creek Loop. There is one large tree that must be climbed over in order to walk that loop. Not surprisingly, there was a lot of mud, but nothing very deep or hard to get across.
Open Season: Mid-Spring
Restrictions: Stock are prohibited on this portion of Gray Wolf Trail.
