The trail travels about a quarter of a mile to Jefferson Lake, a peaceful lake that was formed during an ancient earthquake that created a rock dam at the outlet. Wildlife viewing and fishing are popular activities at this lake.
From Hoodsport, WA travel 14 miles north on Highway 101 to Hamma Hamma River Road. Take a left on Hamma Hamma River Road/Forest Service Road 25 and follow for 6.5 miles to the junction of Forest Service Road 2480. Turn left and travel 3 miles to the Forest Service Road 2401 and turn right on Forest Service 2401. Travel approximately 7.5 miles on Forest Service Road #2401. Jefferson Lake Trailhead will be on your left.
