The broad smooth path climbs at a gentle grade through mature fir and hemlock forest. The elevation is comparatively high, yet the firs are 3 feet or more in diameter, with an open understory.

Current Conditions: 7/3/2016: Trail in good condition. Some visitor reports of blowdowns on lower portion of trail. The parking area (several hundred yards away from the TH) is otherwise unmarked.
