Bridge on the Upper Dungeness Trail saves hikers from fording the Dungeness River.

This 8.1 mile trail makes its way along the Dungeness River for 3.2 miles to Camp Handy then climbs to an intersection with Home Lake and Marmot Pass trails within Buckhorn Wilderness

Grade is 10-15% with some grades to 20%. This trail also connects with the Royal Basin (Olympic National Park) and Tubal Cain Trail.

Boil all water taken from streams before drinking. Please pack out what you pack in.

Current Conditions: 9/13/2018: ALERT - Volunteer work party event at Upper Dungeness TH & along the 2870-270 road on September 15-16. Watch for pedestrians working in the roadway and slow or delayed traffic.

Restrictions: Wilderness regulations apply within Buckhorn Wilderness.

Passes: A valid Recreation Pass is required at Upper Dungeness Trailhead.
