Wynoochee Lake Shore Trail #878
Small streams and waterfalls, Wynoochee River, Wynoochee Lake, old-growth and second growth forests are all part of the experience along this 16 mile loop trail. The trail follows 6 miles along the lakeshore, extends another 2 miles upriver to a bridge over the Wynoochee River, then returns to the Coho campground in 8 miles on the opposite side of the river/lake.
Note: There are no commercial services available at Wynoochee Lake or Coho Campground.

Recreation areas with activity Day Hiking:The trail begins at the north end of Coho Campground. The trail travels mainly through second growth forest. The trail then drops down to the Wynoochee River.
The trail continues along the river to a concrete road bridge and turns down on other side of the river returning to the east side of the lake. Alert: Use caution when choosing to ford the river at this point.
The trail continues on the east side of the lake crossing some old roads and climbing up and down easy grades through some old growth forest until the Wynoochee Dam is reached. The trail continues across the dam and through the picnic area returning to Coho Campground.
