The Deer Ridge area, as seen from the Upper Gray Wolf Trail.

To access the Upper Gray Wolf Trail take Slab Camp Trail #838 to the bridge over the Gray Wolf River. Take a right (southwest) after crossing the bridge to begin the trail. Beyond this point, the trail meanders along the Gray Wolf River, past Slide Camp and enters the Olympic National Park after 2.7 miles. The trail is generally steep.

Provides access to Buckhorn Wilderness and Olympic National Park (overnight permits required).
