Long Pool Recreation Area lies along beautiful Big Piney Creek and offers visitors a variety of recreational opportunities: camping, picnicking, swimming, canoeing, fishing and hiking. Big Piney, a nationally designated a Scenic and Recreational River, offers visitors a variety of recreational experiences. A large natural pool, steep rock bluffs, and captivating forests are just a few examples of the natural beauty surrounding this recreation area. The recent addition of another camping loop offers 20 camping sites with water & electrical hook-ups. This camping loop is open year round. Long Pool Recreation Area is located within the Piney Creeks Wildlife Management Area, which provides hunting opportunities for many types of game during open seasons.

At a Glance

Current Conditions: Effective 9/24/18, Loop C of the campground closed due to renovations to the electrical system. Loop C consists of single and double sites for RVs and will be closed for about two weeks. Long Pool Recreation is open year round - including rest rooms with flush toilets and hot showers. Reservations: No reservations. All campsites available on a first-come/first-served basis
Fees Dispersed camping with hydrants: $7/site/day; Single hookup campground: $13/site/day; Double hookup campground: $20/site/day; Day Use: $3/day/vehicle; Pavilion: $35/day to reserve
Open Season: Year-round
Restrictions: Camping trailers allowed, water and electric available, pump station onsite. 30amp service is available. Long Pool Forest Prohibition

General Information

Directions: From Dover take Arkansas 7 north for 6 miles, turn left (west) on Arkansas 164 and go 3 miles, turn right (northeast) on County Road 14 and go 3 miles, then turn left (northwest) on County Road 15 and go 2 miles.
