Long Pool Recreation Area


Area Status: Open

Long Pool Recreation Area lies along beautiful Big Piney Creek and offers visitors a variety of recreational opportunities: camping, picnicking, swimming, canoeing, fishing and hiking. Big Piney, a nationally designated a Scenic and Recreational River, offers visitors a variety of recreational experiences. A large natural pool, steep rock bluffs, and captivating forests are just a few examples of the natural beauty surrounding this recreation area. One camping loop offers 20 camping sites with water & electrical hook-ups. This camping loop is open year round. Long Pool Recreation Area is located within the Piney Creeks Wildlife Management Area, which provides hunting opportunities for many types of game during open seasons.

Current Conditions: No reservations. Sites available on a first-come/first-based only. Campground sits on the Big Piney Creek, a wild and scenic river. Please contact the Big Piney Ranger District for additional information: 479-284-3150 The small pavilion is closed for repairs. The large pavilion is still available for rent. 
Reservations: No reservations. All campsites available on a first-come/first-served basis
Fees: Sites with no electricity: $15/site/day - Single sites with electricity: $20/site/day - Double sites with electricity: $35/site/day.  Day Use: $3/day/vehicle; Pavilion: $35/day to reserve contact the Big Piney Ranger District at 479-284-3150 Current forest recreation fees and schedule.
Open Season: Year-round
Restrictions: Camping trailers allowed, water and electric available, pump station onsite. 50amp service is available. Long Pool Forest Prohibition

General Information

Directions:

From Dover take Arkansas 7 north for 6 miles, turn left (west) on Arkansas 164 and go 3 miles, turn right (northeast) on County Road 14 and go 3 miles, then turn left (northwest) on County Road 15 and go 2 miles.
