Lake Ste Kathryn Campground is located 8 miles south of Sidnaw on the Kenton Ranger District.  This one loop campground provides 24 drive-in camping sites that can accommodate tents, trailers and motor homes. Each site is naturally screened with vegetation and offers a wood table, fire ring, latern post, and parking spur.  Three sets of toilets and two hand pumps for drinking water are located in the campground. The Deer Marsh Interpretative Trail is located at the Campgrounds east entrance. A boat ramp and parking area is located adjacent to the campground. You will also find a small beach and picnic area near site #13.

Restrictions: Fees shown are for the summer recreation period when full services are provided.  During the early spring and late fall when no services are provided the fees at some areas are not charged. Camping in a developed recreation site is allowed for a period not longer than 14 days, except as otherwise posted. After this time, you must move to another campground or dispersed site for at least 24 hours. Campers must occupy the site the first night. Eight people and 2 motorized vehicles are allowed per campsite with a maximum of one RV or camper trailer and two tents per camping site or three tents per camping site.
Closest Towns: Sidnaw, Mi. is 8 miles to the north and Iron River, Mi. is 27 miles to the southwest.

General Information

Directions:

Lake Ste Kathryn Campground is located in Iron County 8 miles southeast of the town of Sidnaw, Mi., on the Kenton Ranger District in the Eastern half of the Ottawa National Forest. From Sidnaw, Mi., larger towns of Ironwood and Marquette are within 2 hour drives.

From Sidnaw, Mi., take Sidnaw Road south approximately 8 miles and the sign for the campground will be on your right.

From Iron River, Mi., take County Road 657 north approximately 15 miles, turn slight right onto FR 2130, travel approximately 9 ½ miles on FR 2130 to Sidnaw Road, turn right onto Sidnaw Road and travel 2 miles north to campground.

Day Hiking

Deer Marsh Interpretive Trail is looped and approximately 3 miles long, located on rolling, sandy ground. The difficulty of the trail goes from easy, to medium, with a little degree of difficulty. Gravel has been placed on approximately 1/2 mile of the trail. There are several interpretive signs along the trail. There is also a puncheon bridge that crosses a beaver dam and two viewing platforms along the trail. The trail takes you through pine forest and northern hardwoods along the shore of Deer Marsh.
