East Fork Lake Fork Creek (Snowslide) Trail #104

Snowslide Lake

Lake Fork (South) Trailhead - Trail access is available from the Lake Fork Trailhead or the Lake Fork Campground (for paid campers). The route is rolling with only minor elevation gain for the first five miles as it parallels East Fork Lake Fork Creek. It features huckleberries (in season), large erratic boulders, and a handful of hidden fishing holes. It's a great place to introduce kids to hiking. The first five miles are also friendly for mountain biking ridden as an out-and-back. Around mile five continuing north requires a major stream crossing (shin to knee depth) and the trail starts to climb quickly toward Snowslide Summit and eventually Snowslide Lake. This is a designated non-motorized trail.

Snowslide (North) Trailhead - The route to Snowslide Lake (signed as the "Snowslide Trail" along Lick Creek Road) begins on the east side of Lick Creek Road. The trail is steep and rocky, with an elevation gain of about 1,200' to the lake. The area around Snowslide Lake is ringed by mature trees, granite walls, and steep slopes, untouched by recent fire activity. There are several dispersed campsites around the lake. Beyond the lake Trail #104 trail splits at the intersection for Maki Lake Trail #135 (beware that trail #135 is difficult to find) and follows the East Fork of Lake Fork Creek to the Lake Fork Campground.
