Paddy Flat Guard Station Rental Cabin

The Paddy Flat Guard Station is situated in a remote, scenic meadow at 5,300'. Local recreation opportunities include: hiking, biking, horseback riding, and OHV routes. The surrounding terrain features an abundance of trail access for the adventurous visitor. Three trails depart form the Kenally Creek Campground alone, just a few miles to the east.

  • Kitchen utensils such as a coffee pot, frying pans, and silverware are not provided, so please bring your own.
  • Firewood gathering is available in the forest areas surrounding the Paddy Flat Guard Station, although none is provided on site.
  • Water to this facility is provided via generator power. The generator will be active daily from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., so showers, dish washing and toilet flushing will be available during these hours.
  • Maximum occupancy of the cabin is four people.
  • The Guard Station is a "Pack-It-In, Pack-It-Out" facility. All garbage/trash must leave with you. Please clean up after use.
  • Pets are allowed however please be sure to clean up after and maintain control of your animal.
  • Administrative buildings on site are not available for use.
  • Do not bring firewood that is not local to the area. Don't Move Firewood! Help prevent the spread of tree-killing pests in our National Forests by obtaining firewood in proximity to your destination and burning it on-site. For more information visit dontmovefirewood.org.
  • Call the McCall Ranger District at: (208) 634-0400 to obtain the lock combination 24-48 hours in advance of arrival date. 

Up to four head of pack and saddle stock are permitted at this site. Parking is adequate for one four-horse stock trailer. Stock must remain contained within the provided corral. No pickets or high lines are permitted. All stock feed must be certifed weed free and transported by tenants.

This is Forest Road #388. Continue for approximately five miles to Paddy Flat Summit. At the summit make a slight right onto Forest Road #389. Continue for approximately three miles to the Guard Station.

From Cascade: Watch for Paddy Flat Road approximately three miles north of Donnelly.
