Lake Davis is located 7 miles north of Portola, California. This lake was created in 1967 for recreational opportunities. The Lake Davis Recreation Area offers a wide variety of summer outdoor experiences including: camping , picnicking,  fishing, hunting, boating, mountain biking, swimming, and wildlife viewing. Waterskiing and jet skis are not permitted. Frequent strong winds can cause the lake to become very hazardous for small craft.  In the winter, ice fishing, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing are popular activities.

Current Conditions: Deep Sierra snow continues to dominate activites at Lake Davis. Ice fishing and snow related activities continue to be popular. As of March 15, 2019, all roads around the lake are blocked with about six feet of snow. Depending upon weather conditions, it is expected lake access, camping and other activities will be impacted into early May.
Reservations: Sites can be reserved by calling 1-877-444-6777 or online at www.Recreation.gov  The campground has about half reservation and half first come first serve.
