Groom Creek Area


Located in the cool pines of central Arizona, Groom Creek offers a variety of recreational opportunities including: camping, picnicking, hiking, mountain biking, bouldering, and horseback riding.  Groom Creek area day use sites and trails are open year-round; campgrounds are open from May 1 to October 31 and closed during the winter.  Scroll down (below the recreation map) to learn more about these recreational opportunities.

Campground Camping

Recreation areas with activity Campground Camping:

Lower Wolf Creek Campground and Groom Creek Horse Camp are located in the Groom Creek area.  

RV Camping

Recreation areas with activity RV Camping:

Lower Wolf Campground and Upper Wolf Group Campground can accommodate trailers between 22' and 40' in length, but there are no hook-ups.

Spruce Mountain Lookout Tower has picnic facilities and is open during fire season when the tower is staffed.
