Lynx Lake - South Shore Boat Ramp

EXPECT INTERMITENT WATER OUTAGES AT LYNX LAKE REC AREA! The potable water system that serves recreation sites at Lynx Lake is being repaired. If you plan to visit, please expect intermittant outages and/or bring your own water. NO FLUSH TOILETS at times at North Shore and in one of the loops in Lynx Campground, but vault toilets are available for use in the other loops. Note: water will be available at times, but we don't want you to count on it until repairs have been completed. Thank you!

A popular lake-side picnic and fishing area, South Shore has ample parking for cars and vehicles towing trailers or boats on all but the busiest days of the year when it fills up. Hours of operation vary seasonally but run roughly from dawn to dusk.

Note: This site closes following especially heavy snow, and when the roads are too icy. If you plan to visit and want to make sure it is open, please contact the Bradshaw Ranger Station: 928-443-8000. When the office is closed, please check the right-hand column under "Alerts and Warnings" to see if there are weather-related closures, and follow the link to see if this site is closed or on a reduced schedule.

From Prescott, AZ: East on Hwy 69, pass shopping mall on right, go right (south) on Walker Rd. (by Costco). South on Walker Rd for approximately 2.8 miles. South Shore is on the left side of Walker Rd.

Activities

Lake and Pond Fishing

Lynx Lake is a man-made lake of approximately 55 surface acres and is periodically stocked with trout.
A valid fishing or combination license is required for resident and non-resident anglers 10 years of age or older fishing any public accessible water in Arizona.
Use of boat motors is limited to electric motors and 10 HP or less gasoline-powered motors only.
Please see the news release dated August 28, 2020 for more information about swimming in the lakes on the Forest.

- Lynx Lake Store and Marina: Fishing/Camping supplies, bait, boat rentals and firewood. Store Hours: Weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Friday to 8 p.m.), Saturdays 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sundays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Restaurant: Breakfast and lunch daily from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dinner Friday and Saturday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Both store and restaurant are closed Mondays (except holidays).

Picnic tables, ramadas, grills, and its lake-side location make Southshore a popular spot to picnic.
