Yavapai Campground


This 22-site campground is located in the Granite Basin Recreation Area amidst granite boulders in mixed pinyon-juniper and ponderosa pines. It is convenient to Granite Basin Lake, Granite Mountain Wilderness, and five day-use sites with picnic facilities and trail access.

Note: This site closes following especially heavy snow and when the roads are too icy.  If you plan to visit and want to make sure it is open, please contact the Bradshaw Ranger Station: 928-443-8000. When the office is closed, please check the right-hand column under "Alerts and Warnings" to see if there are weather-related closures, and follow the link to see if this site is closed or on a reduced schedule.

Reservations:   The following sites may be reserved from two days to six months in advance through Recreation.gov or call 1 (877) 444-6777:  1,2,3, 5-15, 17-20 Sites 4, 16 and 21 are available on a first-come-first-served basis, but they fill quickly.  For more information see our Reservation versus First-Come-First-Served Sites FAQs webpage, or contact the Bradshaw Ranger District at 928-443-8000.

  • Quiet hours between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.

  • Dogs must be on leash (6' maximum)
  • OHV/ATV use prohibited in the campground
  • Maximum length of stay: 14 days in 30-day period on the Prescott National Forest including stays at dispersed recreation sites.

From the corner of Iron Springs Rd. and Williamson Valley Rd in Prescott: Northwest on Iron Springs approximately 3 miles. Right on Granite Basin Rd. Follow road 2.1 miles. Yavapai Campground is on the left.

Campground Camping

Nestled in granite rock outcrops adjacent to Granite Mountain Wilderness Area.  Located in mixed Pinyon Juniper and Ponderosa Pine with plently of sunlight; located only a few miles from Prescott. 

Each camp site usually accommodates one vehicle towing a camp trailer plus one additional vehicle (there is a charge for additional vehcile).  Vehicles must be parked in space provided on site - not along side of road. 

Sites are designed for 5 people; a maximum of 10 is allowed only to accommodate a single large family.  At least one person must occupy a campsite during the first night after camping equipment is set up.

RV Camping

  • Though there are no RV hook-ups, most sites can accommodate trailers up to 40’ in length.
