Dexter Campground

Dexter Campground is located on the northern shore of Twin Lakes Reservoir, adjacent to the Dexter Point Boating Site. The campground offers 11 tent-only sites and 8 large RV sites. Facilities include picnic tables, fire rings, and vault toilets. Dates are weather dependent. All services may not be available early or late in the season.

Reservations: No sites are reservable. This location is available on a first-come, first-served basis only. Visitors are required to physically arrive at the campground to purchase and claim a site.

Fees:
  • $26 nightly fee per site for overnight camping which includes two vehicles. A third vehicle is an additional $11 per night. RVs and ATV/boat trailers count as one vehicle.
  • Fees are payable by cash, check or money order. Self-servicing fee tube is available.
  • First-come, first-served sites must be occupied the first night.

Restrictions:
  • Maximum of eight people per site
  • Maximum three tents per site or one RV and two tents
  • Dogs, including service dogs, must be leashed at all times
  • No discharge of firearms or fireworks
  • Only licensed vehicles can operate inside campground
  • Remember to check fishing regulations before fishing at any body of water. For stocking reports and more information on regulations or fishing licenses, check out the Colorado Parks & Wildlife website.
Closest Towns: Leadville, CO and Buena Vista, CO
Water: No water available. Please bring water with you.
Restroom: Vault toilets are available in this campground.
Passes: America the Beautiful Senior or Access Pass cardholders may receive a 50% discount off the camping fee only. The discount only applies to the fee for the campsite physically occupied by the pass owner, not to any additional campsite(s) occupied by members of the pass owner's party.
