Wapaca Trail #1486
Wapaca Trail #1486 is a ½ mile trail that connects to the Colorado Trail #1776 Segment 12-Clear Creek in the Collegiate Peaks Wilderness. The trail is accessed from the Wapaca/Lienhart Trailhead on FSR 307 (Morrison Creek Road).
The Collegiate Peaks Wilderness was established in 1980 to preserve its quality, character, and integrity. This area is intended to be a place where the imprint of humans is substantially unnoticed; where natural processes are the primary influences, and human activity is limited to primitive recreation and minimum tools. General Information
Directions:From Buena Vista: Travel north on US Highway 24 for about 7 miles. Turn left on to County Road 386 which becomes Forest Service Road 386 after about a mile. Travel on FSR 486 for about 1/2 mile then turn right at the for for FSR 387. Travel on FSR 387 to the end of the road for the Wapaca/Lienhart Trailhead.
