Crags Campground

Area Status: Closed

The Crags Campground has 17 sites for tents, small RVs, or small trailers. The access to the campground is from a narrow, winding and rough dirt road, which may not be suitable for large trailers. There is no trash service; please pack out your trash. Outside of peak season water and camp hosts may not be available. 

The Crags Trail (#664) and the Devil's Playground Trail (#753) start near the campground, at the Crags Trailhead, located 1/8 mile before the campground. The Ring-the-Peak trail passes by the Crags Campground.

Reservations: This is a first-come, first-served campground. No reservations.
Fees:
$22 fee per site for overnight camping. Two vehicles or one RV per site is included in the camping fee. $10.00 for a third vehicle. 
 
$10 fee for day use if not camping overnight.
 
Fees are payable by cash, check or money order. Self-servicing fee tube is available.
 
First-come, first-served sites must be occupied the same night.

Restrictions:
  • Dogs must be leashed at all times.
  • No discharge of firearms or fireworks.
  • Only licensed vehicles can operate inside campground.
  • Camping is not allowed behind a locked gate.

Passes:

The Interagency Senior Pass and the Interagency Access Pass qualifies for a 50% discount. The discount only applies to the fee for the campsite physically occupied by the pass owner, not to any additional campsite(s) occupied by members of the pass owner's party.

General Information

Directions:

The Crags Campground is located southeast of Divide and is reached by driving 4.3 miles south of Divide on CO Highway 67. Turn left on Forest Road 383 and drive another 3.5 miles east. 


General Notes:

Bears are reported in this area. Please properly store food and scented items. 

Visitors will notice significant changes in the drainage as spruce trees succumb to the natural succession from the beetle infestation.
