Thunder Ridge Campground

Area Status: Closed

Thunder Ridge Campground has 21 campsites with parking areas that are at least 30 feet. Sites 7, 8 and 21 are accessible. Facilities include tables, fire grates, drinking water, vault toilets and trash collection. This is a standard, nonelectric campground.

Reservations are recommended between Memorial Day and Labor Day. During peak season, this campground is a full-service campground. Pre-season and extended season have reduced service such as water, trash or a host may not be available.

Fees:	$28.00 fee per site for overnight camping. Two vehicles or one RV per site is included in the camping fee. $11.00 for a third vehicle. $11.00 fee for day use if not camping overnight. Fees are payable by cash, check or money order. Self-servicing fee tube is available. First-come, first-served sites must be occupied the same night.

Restrictions:	Dogs must be leashed at all times. Horses are not permitted on trails. No discharge of firearms or fireworks. Only licensed vehicles can operate inside campground. Camping is not allowed behind a locked gate.

Directions:

From Colorado Springs, travel west on Highway 24 for about 24 miles to Woodland Park. Turn north on Baldwin (which becomes Rampart Range Road). Go about 2 miles to Loy Creek Road, turn right and then to Forest Development Road 300 (Rampart Range Road) turn right. Follow signs. Rampart Reservoir entrance is about 4 miles further on the left.
