Angel of Shavano Group Area
This group campground is located near the Angel of Shavano Campground and adjacent to the creek. Volleyball, softball and a horseshoe pit are available. Visitors must bring their own equipment, including volleyball net, baseball equipment and horseshoes. Parking is provided for 12-14 passenger vehicles. Firewood is sold by the campground host at the Angel of Shavano campground.
The Angel of Shavano Trailhead for the Colorado Trail #1776 is across the road from the campground.
The campground has a covered pavilion with picnic tables, six standing grills, five large picnic tables and a fire ring with benches.

General Information
Directions:From Poncha Springs, Colorado, take US Highway 50 west for six miles, then right on County Road 240 for three miles to the campground. The group area is located on the left-hand side of the road.
Parking:
The parking area measures 60' x 120'. The parking area slopes gradually down towards a large meadow. Tents and small pop-up campers are permitted along the edges of the group facility. No facilities are available for large RVs.

Group Camping
This facility is best suited to groups with tent camping in mind. There are no electric or sewer hookups, and parking is limited for large RVs. A baseball backstop and poles for a volleyball net are available. Fishing is available in the nearby stream and beaver ponds.
The Colorado Trail is located near the campground. Visitors can take County Road 240 up to North Fork reservoir and campground. This road requires a high-clearance vehicle.
Day Hiking
The Colorado Trail (#1776) is located across the road from this campground. Hikers can walk north on the trail to the Blanks Cabin trailhead and the access trail for Mt. Shavano. The southern leg of the trail descends to Highway 50 and Fooses Creek.
