Denny Creek Trail

Denny Creek Trailhead

Denny Creek is a major access to the Collegiate Peaks Wilderness area. The trail travels to Mt. Yale, Hartenstein Lake and Browns Pass. From the trailhead the trail travels northwest for about 1 mile then forks. The right-hard fork climbs another 4 miles to Mt. Yale. The left fork goes to Hartenstein Lake (2.3 miles from trailhead) or Browns Pass (3.2 miles from trailhead). The trail continues northeast towards Kroenke Lake and then descends into the North Cottonwood drainage.

Detailed maps of the area are available at the Salida Ranger District office. The area is covered by heavy snow from November until June.
