Bear Lake Campground
NOTICE 5/26/2022: The Bear Lake Campground has experience significant damage as a result of trees being blown down on some campsites. The campground will remain closed until the area can be made safe for visitors again.
Bear Lake Campground is a developed campground with the following attractions: Lake and Stream fishing. Bear Lake is approximately mile from campground, and the Tributaries of Cuchara River runs through campground. The Indian Creek Trail #1300 Trailhead is located on the north side of campground. This trailhead is a multi-use trail system and accesses 23 miles of motorized trails available for ATV, motorcycle, bicycle, foot, and horse use.

Friday and Saturday night minimum required stay on weekends. 3 nights minimum on holiday weekends. Walk-ups are exempt from the nightly minimum. |

Fees: | Fees are charged for overnight camping. Two (2) vehicles are included in the camping fee; extra fee for additional vehicles. Fees are payable by cash, check or money order, if not registered on line. Self-servicing fee tube is available. First-come, first-served sites must be occupied the FIRST NIGHT. General Information
Directions:To get there from La Veta, drive south on SH 12 for 15 miles to FSR 422. Turn right onto FSR422 and follow it for 5 miles until you reach the Bear Lake Campground, one mile past Blue Lake Campground.

Campground Camping
15 campsites, with maximum spur length of 40 feet. Parking spurs, tables, fire rings, grills, trash receptacles are provided at this campground. Drinking water is provided by a well with a hand pump. There is 1 double vault accessible toilet and 1 single vault toilet.
