La Vista Campground

La Vista Campground is a developed campground within the Lake Isabel Recreation Area. Lake Isabel offers opportunities for non-motorized boating and fishing. St. Charles Creek is close to the campground and is open for fishing. The campground is also close to motorized and non-motorized trails including Cisneros Trail #1314, St. Charles Trail #1316 and Snowslide Trail #1318. There is a pleasant hiking trail on the lake shore.

Campsites #1 through #10 are tent-only sites.

All dates are weather dependent. Services such as water, trash or a host may not be available early and late season.

Reservations: Call 1-877-444-6777 or visit www.recreation.gov at least 4 days in advance to make a reservation. Friday and Saturday night minimum required stay on weekends. 3 nights minimum on holiday weekends. Walk-ups are exempt from the nightly minimum.

Fees: $30 or $35 for premium sites. Two vehicles included in the camping fee. $10 for additional vehicles. Fees are payable by cash, check or money order if not reserved online. Self-servicing fee tube is available. First-come, first-served sites must be occupied the first night.

  • Maximum 8 persons per site: 2 tents and 2 vehicles or 1 recreation vehicle.
  • Dogs must be leashed at all times.
  • No discharge of firearms or fireworks.
  • Only licensed vehicles can operate inside campground.
  • Camping is not allowed behind a locked gate.

Passes:

The Interagency Senior Pass (previously known as the Golden Age Pass) and the Interagency Access Pass qualifies for a 50% discount at concessionaire run campsites. The discount only applies to the fee for the campsite physically occupied by the pass owner, not to any additional campsite(s) occupied by members of the pass owner's party.

General Information

Directions:

From Pueblo, go 25 miles south on Interstate 25 to Exit 74. Go west 16 miles on State Hwy 165. Turn into the south entrance at Lake Isabel Recreation Area. Travel about 1 mile and look for the La Vista campground signs. 


General Notes:

Weather in the summer is generally mild with warm days and cool nights; highs in the 80's and lows in the 40's. Afternoon thunderstorms are a common occurrence. Spring and fall weather is usually dry and sunny with highs in the 60’s and lows in the 30's.

Campground Camping

There are 29 campsites; 19 are RV accessible with a spur length of 50 feet. A horseshoe pit, water from a hand pump, fire grates, picnic tables, accessible toilets and trash receptacles are located in campground. Firewood is available for sale at the site. Electric RV hook ups. Roads are paved.
