Greenhorn Trail #1316
The Greenhorn Trail #1316 is 7.8 miles long; beginning elevation is 7,460 feet and tops out at 11,340 feet, a gain of 3,880 feet. This trail is moderate for hiking and is located in the Greenhorn Mountain Wilderness.
The Greenhorn Mountain Wilderness was established in 1993 to preserve its quality, character, and integrity. This area is intended to be a place where the imprint of humans is substantially unnoticed; where natural processes are the primary influences, and human activity is limited to primitive recreation and minimum tools. General Information
Directions:The Greenhorn Trail has two trailheads access points.The first one is located near the town of Rye, CO. Head west through Rye on Main Street, then right on Cuerna Verde Rd. to the end. The second trailhead may be accessed from State Highway 165. Turn onto FSR 360 then take FSR 369 to the trailhead.
