Manitou Lake Picnic Area


Manitou Lake is a 5-acre reservoir where the entire family can enjoy fishing and hiking Trail #670 around the lake. Due to easy area access and popularity, fishing occurs year-round in the reservoir. All sites have tables, fire grates, and trash collection. Swimming, wading, and all body contact with the water in the reservoir is prohibited.

An asphalt bike trail #699, approx. 4.2 miles long, connects all the campgrounds and picnic areas. There are 2 group campgrounds: Pike Community and Red Rocks.

Fees: A $10 per vehicle day use fee is charged. An annual pass is available for Manitou Lake Picnic Area, Rampart Reservoir Recreation Area, and 11-Mile Canyon. To reserve the pavilion for day-use visit www.recreation.gov. In addition to the $75 fee to reserve the pavilion, there will be $10.00 per vehicle charged upon arrival. For larger groups which might utilize a bus, the vehicle fee is $50.00. The facility is limited to 50 occupants. No discount is accepted for use of this facility.

General Information

Directions:

From Colorado Springs, travel on US Highway 24 approximately 18 miles to Woodland Park. Take Highway 67 north approximately 7 miles. Manitou Lake is on the right (east) side of the highway one mile north of Colorado Campground.
