Turquoise Lake

Named after the "unsinkable" Molly Brown on the Titanic, this campground is located on the eastern shore of Turquoise Lake in a shaded lodgepole pine forest at an elevation of 9,900 feet. Potable water, vault toilets, picnic tables and firerings with grates are available throughout this campground. Firewood is for sale at the host site.

The Turquoise Lake Nature Trail traverses between this and the Silver Dollar campgrounds and loops along the shoreline. Be sure to pick up your trail guide prior to departure to learn about the flora and fauna along this trail.

Reservations: All sites are by reservation only. Phone 877-444-6777 or visit at least 5 days in advance. Friday and Saturday night minimum required stay on weekends. 3 nights minimum on holiday weekends. Walk-ups are exempt from the nightly minimum.

$24.00 fee per site for overnight camping except for campsites #4, 5, 6, 7, 8. 9, 10, 12, and 13. These campsites are $26/campsite. Two (2) vehicles or one (1) RV per site is included in the camping fee. $7.00 for a third vehicle. 
Fees are payable by cash, check or money order. Self-servicing fee tube is available.
First-come, first-served sites must be occupied the FIRST NIGHT.
Golden Age and Golden Access Cardholder: 50% discount off the camping fee only.

Restrictions: Regardless of the length of the parking spur, only one Recreational Vehicle per campsite is allowed.
Additional restrictions apply to this campground:
  • Maximum 8 persons per site: 2 tents and 2 vehicles or 1 recreation vehicle.
  • Dogs must be leashed at all times.
  • No discharge of firearms or fireworks.
  • Only licensed vehicles can operate inside campground.
  • Camping is NOT ALLOWED behind a LOCKED GATE.
Closest Towns: Leadville, CO
Water: Potable water is available through a pressurized water system. No filling RV tanks, please.
Restroom: Vault toilets are located throughout the campground.

The Interagency Senior Pass (previously known as the Golden Age Pass) and the Interagency Access Pass qualifies for a 50% discount at concessionaire run campsites. The discount only applies to the fee for the campsite physically occupied by the pass owner, not to any additional campsite(s) occupied by members of the pass owner's party.
