Whitestar Campground is located in ponderosa pine and sage habitat at 9,300 feet on the northern shore of Twin Lakes Reservoir. Facilities include picnic tables with lantern poles, fire rings with grates, potable water, and vault toilets.
There are three loops in which to find your perfect campsite: Sage and Valley Loops have reservable sites, while Ridge Loop is first-come, first-served. Sage Loop is open through the end of September to accommodate fall campers.
A boat ramp, parking, and angler fishing areas are located just down the road from the campground. Firewood is for sale at the camp host site.
High altitude sickness may occur at this altitude.

$20.00 fee per site for the Sage Loop; $19.00 fee per site for the Ridge and Valley Loop for overnight camping. Two (2) vehicles or one (1) RV per site is included in the camping fee. $6.00 for a third vehicle.
$6.00 fee for day use if not camping overnight.
Fees are payable by cash, check, or money order. Self-servicing fee tube is available.
First-come, first-served sites must be occupied the FIRST NIGHT.
Golden Age and Golden Access Cardholder: 50% discount off the camping fee only.

||The following restrictions apply to this campground:
- Maximum 8 persons per site: 2 tents and 2 vehicles or 1 recreation vehicle / trailer.
- Dogs must be leashed at all times.
- No discharge of firearms or fireworks.
- Only licensed vehicles can operate inside campground.
- Camping is NOT ALLOWED behind a LOCKED GATE.

||Vault toilets are located throughout the campground.
The Interagency Senior Pass (previously known as the Golden Age Pass) and the Interagency Access Pass qualifies for a 50% discount at concessionaire run campsites. The discount only applies to the fee for the campsite physically occupied by the pass owner, not to any additional campsite(s) occupied by members of the pass owner's party.

From Leadville, travel 15 miles south on US Hwy 24 to CO Hwy 82. Turn right and go west on Hwy 82, turn left past Mt Elbert Pwer Plant into the campground.
