The North Rock trail is 7.6 miles long. It begins at county Rd. 28 and ends at Forest Trail 700.
This trail is lightly used during most of the season. During hunting season the usage is greatly increased. Suitable camping areas can be found along the trail. North Rock Creek Trail leaves Rock Creek Road just past the entrance of Rock Creek Campground. A closed road passes through Camp Val Verde. The road turns into a 4WD road for about ¼ mile, the actual trail begins at this point.
The trail proceeds northeast to the north fork of Rock Creek, then turns to the west and follows the north fork of Rock Creek to the Dry Creek Stock Driveway. Dry Creek Stock Driveway provides access to other trails, including the South Rock Creek Trail (#702) and Silver Mountain (#704).
