Marshall Park Campground
This campground is located near Creede, Colorado right beside State Highway 149. The elevation is 8,800 feet. It is comprised of 16 sites arranged in a large loop, of which 7 are paved pull through sites and 9 are dead end gravel spurs.
Campground is located adjacent to Colorado Hwy. 149 and the Rio Grande River for easy access to through travelers and overnight campers. It is the closest Forest campground to the town of Creede. There is very little screening or trees in the campground, so any vehicle traffic along Colorado Highway 149 is visible and audible. The sun hits most of campground in the late morning, which means cool morning temperatures, but there is not much afternoon shade. The road is blacktopped through the campground loop and some pull-through sites are also paved. Maximum trailer length is 40 feet. The facilities include 16 sites each with a parking spur, picnic table and fireplace ring. There is a vault toilet designed for handicapped usage accessible for wheelchairs. The toilet even has a night light. There is no potable water. Garbage containers are centrally grouped and available for use Memorial Day until Labor Day. There is a sink water disposal facility. Campground hosts are usually stationed here in site 16. Firewood may be purchased through the campground host. The Rio Grande River is very close and can provide much summer water fun. This is a very popular campground, close to town and is fairly heavily used. It tends to remain full from mid-June through August. 14 DAY CAMPING LIMIT. This site can be accessed by passenger car.
