Butte Fork Trail #957

ALERT: The Butte Fork Trail bridge closure has been extended for one year, due to public safety concerns. The continuation of the order is effective July 30, 2022 until July 30, 2023, unless sooner rescinded.

This trail is located primarily within the Red Buttes Wilderness. It's located in California, and runs east to west. From Azalea Lake, within the wilderness, it follows Butte Fork of the Applegate River.

Because of its remote location, there is always the potential for trail users to encounter logs across the trail. The Siskiyou Mountain Club endeavored to clear logs and brush the trail in the summer of 2016, but users should be aware of the potential for encountering large logs across the trail.
