Osgood Ditch Trail #1276

The trail is on the berm of an old mining ditch used for carrying water to mines in Waldo. Built in the early 1850s it is one of the oldest ditches in this area. Please do not disturb any of the historical features. It's a nice, easy walk to the East Fork Illinois River Trail #1274. The Ditch Trail and the lower end of the East Fork Illinois River Trail #1274 make a nice day hike loop. There are two stream crossings on the lower end of the East Fork Illinois River Trail #1274 that require wading in swift water about 1.5 feet deep.
