Tannen Lakes Trail #1243
This is a heavily wooded trail within the Red Buttes Wilderness Area. The area provides good fishing lakes in a scenic high mountain environment. A wide variety of wildflowers can be viewed in the spring and summer months. Tannen Lakes Tie Trail #1243A (area is unavailable) makes a loop back to Forest Road 041. A loop opportunity exists by combining this trail with the west end of Boundary Trail #1207, Forest Road 570, and Forest Road 041. There are some spectacular views from Forest Road 1207 along the South side of Tannen Mountain.
