Glade Creek

Glade CreekGlade Creek is a small stream originating high along the Siskiyou Mountain Crest and entering the Little Applegate River, southwest of Talent, Oregon. A waterfall near the mouth prevents steelhead from accessing most of the stream. The stream is not stocked but supports relatively high numbers of wild, albeit small, rainbow trout averaging 6 inches long. Much of the stream is pocket water and riffles with a few well-defined pools. In 2001, the Quartz Fire burned through much of the Glade Creek watershed, including many riparian areas. After the fire, large wood was added to sections of the stream to improve fish habitat.

Because of the large proportion of small trout that need to be released if caught, bait is not allowed. Barbless hooks, though not required, are also encouraged.
