This barrier free trail consists of four loops, each offering a varying degree of challenge:

  • Creek Loop - 0.6 mile level trail, easiest travel
  • Big Pine Loop - 0.3 mile mostly level trail, more difficult travel
  • Sunshine Loop - 0.5 mile some sloping trail, more difficult travel
  • Challenge Loop - 0.75 mile sloping trail, more difficult to most difficult travel

See the world's second tallest ponderosa pine, the "Big Pine Tree." Nice place for family outings. Barrier free hike through beautiful old-growth stand.

Directions:

From Grants Pass, OR, travel 17.8 miles northwest on Interstate 5 west.  Take the Merlin / Galice Road and travel about 12 miles and take a left onto Forest Road 2500 and go 12 miles to the Big Pine Campground.
