General Information

Directions:

From Grants Pass, OR, travel south on US. Highway 199 (Redwood Highway) towards Cave Junction, OR. From US Highway 199 (Redwood Highway), travel approximately 17.5 miles and turn right (west) onto Briggs Valley Road (Forest Road 25). Continue on Forest Road 25 for approximately 20.1 miles to junction with Forest Road 121 and Forest Road 2512. Turn left onto Forest Road 2512, and then take the second right to access the Sam Brown Horse Campground. Trailhead is located at the north end of the campground.

From Grants Pass, OR, travel 5.2 miles on Interstate 5 North, and exit in Merlin (Exit 61). Turn left onto Merlin Road, continuing approximately 12 miles and turn left onto Forest Road 25. Continue approximately 12 miles on Forest Road 25 to Forest Road 2512. Turn right onto Forest Road 2512, and then the second right to access the Sam Brown Horse Campground. Trailhead is located at the north end of the campground.
