Middle Mountain Campground
Middle Mountain Campground is located on Vallecito Reservoir and near the Pine River. It has 24 sites with southern exposure and easy access to the water. The campground is very open and sunny, with a grassy shoreline and afternoon breezes. Some shade is provided by ponderosa pines and small aspen. A few sites can accommodate large RVs.
Services include water, trash pickup, picnic tables, campfire rings (firewood available, you gather), and vault toilets.

General Information
Directions:From Durango, CO: Travel 17 miles on Florida Road, County Road #240. Turn left onto County Road #501 for approximately 13 miles around the north end of Vallecito Reservoir, then south to the campground entrance. Campground is located on the east side of Vallecito Reservoir.
From Bayfield, CO: Take County Road 501 approximately 22 miles around the north end of Vallecito Reservoir, then south to the campground entrance. Campground is located on the east side of Vallecito Reservoir.

General Notes:
- Vallecito Reservoir: Excellent fishing and boating opportunities.
- Old Mining Town: Middle Mountain Road (Forest Rd. 724) leads to the upper Bear Creek drainages and Runlett Park, as well as the old mining town of Tuckerville.
- Runlett Park Trail: Trail open to OHV 50 inch or less.
- Cave Basin Trail: Provides access to the Weminuche Wilderness (bicycles and motor vehicles are not allowed).
- Pine River Trail: After traveling 2.7 miles along private property, trail enters Weminuche Wilderness and provides fishing opportunities along Pine River.
- Nearby Forest Service Campgrounds: Pine Point, North Canyon and Graham Creek, as well as Old Timers Day Use Area - south on Forest Road 603, east side
