Chavez Canyon Boat Launch

Chavez Canyon is a day use non-motorized River Boating Launch. There is limited parking available.  No permit is required for personal day use river float trips.  All commercial outfitters must have a special use permit, usually issued for the Rio Chama by the Bureau of Land Management Taos Field Office.   Uses: day-use float boat put-in, fishing access, picnicking, wildlife viewing.  Facilities: Vault toilet.  No trash service provided - Pack It In Pack It Out. Special Instructions: No overnight camping permitted.
