The San Antonio Group Campground is located in the San Antonio Campground. This area has towering ponderosa pines, open forest meadows, and has the San Antonio River running alongside it. Visitors can access the paved walking trail found in the campground. There are 11 parking spaces for the nine campsites in the group area.

Uses: overnight camping, hiking and fishing.

Facilities: Group site with nine walk-in camp sites and a pavilion which accommodates up to 100 people. The campground has vault toilets and potable water available; no dump station available.

Special Instructions: This campground is designated as a reduced impact and recycle campground. Users are encouraged to recycle (recycle bins on site) and pack out trash. Cutting live vegetation and placing tents on the grass is prohibited. Charcoal only in pedestal cooking grills.

Operational Hours: Check out time is 12 p.m.,  check in time is 3 p.m.. 14 day stay maximum. The campground typically opens in early May and closes in mid October.
Reservations: From mid-May through early September, all campsites are reserved through or by calling toll free 1-877-444-6777. At all other times of the year, the campground is a first-come, first-served site.

Fees $10 per vehicle per night for single family unit; $15 per night for hook-up sites. Only two (2) vehicles are permitted at a camp site.

Closest Towns: La Cueva with country store and lodging is two miles from campground. Jemez Springs offers food, lodging and other services.

Information Center: Very popular campground. Early arrival is suggested. No day use activities, such as picnics, are allowed. Although the campground has an on-site drinking water supply, a five (5) gallon per trailer or RR restriction may be in effect. Please bring potable water with you if available. 

General Information


From the Jemez Ranger Station go 7.5 miles to the junction of State Road 126 at La Cueva. Turn left at the stop sign and follow State Road 126 approximately two miles to campground turnoff.
