Pioneer Campground
Pioneer Campground, which is situated next to Soldier Mountain Ski Area, is a developed campground composed of 5 units on Soldier Creek. The campground can be reserved in its entirety for groups of up to 50 people. The amphitheater and adjacent picnic area can be used for group events. Campground amenities include picnic tables, fire rings, drinking water and a restroom. The South Fork and North Fork of Soldier Creek trails begin along Forest Road 093 and join a major network of trails in the Soldier Mountains.

Operational Hours: | Standard Operating season is May - September, and can be seasonally contingent. You may camp in Pioneer Campground before May, but we will not start cleaning/servicing the campground until mid-May. Drinking water will not be available until Memorial weekend. |

The Soldier Creek - Miller Creek trailhead (#087) begins at the end of Forest Road 093 and joins a major network of trails in the Soldier Mountains.

In the winter, there is parking at nearby Couch Summit for about 100 miles of snowmobile trails through the forest and private lands. A warming hut is available in Basalt Creek on the Wells Summit section.
