Hunter Creek Transfer Camp

Located 20 miles northwest of Fairfield through Cow Creek Reservoir on Road No. 055, the campground offers 3 single camping units, and 1 multi-family unit.  Corrals, mangers and barrier free stock loading ramps are available along with restrooms.  No water is available.  The trailhead for the North Fork Lime Creek Trail No. 044 is located at the north end of the campground and connects with the Virginia Gulch Trail No. 037.

Current Conditions: Transfer camp is currently open. As of July 5, 2019, the trail closure due to the Stewart Fire have been lifted.  The reopened trails include: Coyote #046, Middle Fork Lime #049, Bremner #055, Roanhide #056, South Fork Lime #057, Boardman Pass #058, Soldier Front Jeep #630, Soldier Front ATV #631 and Cold Springs Ridge #981.
Operational Hours: Standard operating season is May - October but can be seasonally dependent.
Reservations: This is a non-reservation campground.
Fees This is a no-charge campground.
