Abbott Campground

Area Status: Open

Abbott Campground is a primitive non-reservation campground composed of 7 units located on the South Fork of the Boise River. Campground amenities include picnic tables, fire rings and restrooms. Tubing, and fishing are popular activities. There is a footbridge located on the west end of the camp area that crosses the river and accesses the Abbot Gulch area.

Current Conditions: Campground is open and fees will be charged until October 31st. Nearest potable water is located just outside Baumgartner Campground (10 miles east of Abbot) and is only available until a hard freeze, generally the end of September or early October.
Operational Hours: Standard operating season is mid-May though October, but can be seasonally dependent.
Reservations: This is a non-reservation camp site.
Fees: Fees will be charged from mid-May until October 31. $6.00 per night for single sites, $12.00 per night for double sites.
Open Season: May 15 - October 31
Restrictions: Pets must be leashed in the campground.  All camp fires must be attended.
Closest Towns: Featherville, Idaho and Fairfield, Idaho.

General Information

Directions:

From Highway 20, travel north on Forest Highway 61 (Pine-Featherville Road) approximately 30 miles to the town of Featherville.  From there, travel east on Forest Road 227 approximately 2 miles to Abbott Campground.
