Pinnacles OHV Staging Area

OHV Staging area on SR 173 north of Lake Arrowhead. There is a vault toilet and a picnic tables at the staging area along with ample parking and informational signs.

Current Conditions: Yellow Warning Triangle Symbol  Wood or charcoal fires or barbecues are only allowed n agency provided grills.  Gas/Propane appliances are permitted with fuel shut-off valve, stoves, fire-rings, etc. CA Campfire Permit: https://www.readyforwildfire.org/permits/campfire-permit/

Permit Info: California Campfire Permit is required when propane stoves and lanterns are allowed.
Restrictions:
  • Vehicles on the OHV routes require either a license plate, red, or green sticker. Information for red and green sticker regulations and licensing requirements can be found at www.ohv.parks.ca.gov
  • No "Red Sticker" vehicles - May 1 through September 30
CA State Parks OHV Must have current registration and operating spark arrestor. You are required by the California Vehicle Code to have a spark arrester, maintained and in effective working order, whenever you are operating your OHV on any forest-covered land, brush-covered land, or grass-covered land.

General Information

Directions:

From Highway 18, turn north on Daley Canyon Rd. (east of Rimforest). Turn left on Highway 189. Turn right on Grass Valley Rd. and continue past the golf course. Look for a sign indicating Grass Valley Rd. turns left. Follow Grass Valley Rd. until it ends at Highway 173. Turn left on Highway 173. Drive 1 1/2-miles, turn right on Forest Road 3N34.
