Champion Lodgepole Trail 1W11

The Champion Lodgepole Pine Trail is located on the south side of Big Bear Lake. It is a pleasant 30 to 45 minute walk through a lush forest to Bluff Meadows and one of the largest Lodgepole Pine trees in the world. This an interpretive trail with 14 numbered posts that correspond to a brochure available at the trailhead and at the Big Bear Discovery Center. There are many wildflowers in this area during the early summer months, and benches situated in shady spots along the trail.

General Information
Directions:From State Highway 18, approximately 1 mile west of Big Bear Lake Village, turn left on Mill Creek Road. Proceed past Aspen Glen Picnic Area, 0.4 of mile and turn left to continue on Mill Creek Road to Forest Road 2N10. Proceed on 2N10 for 3.7 miles and turn right on Forest Service Road 2N11 and continue 1 mile to the trailhead.
Due to water across Forest Service Road 2N11, vehicles with a height clearance are recommended.
