Custer #1 Campground


This campground is along the Custer Motorway just above the townsite of Custer, a boom town during the late 1800's. Visit the museum, open 9 - 5 Memorial Day through Labor Day. Facilities include 6 sites with picnic tables and fire rings with cooking grills. Campground has a vault toilet and can accommodate trailers and motorhomes up to 32 feet long.

Passes:   The following passes are good for 50% reduction in camping fees: SENIOR PASS – Available for $10.00 to US Citizens 62 years and older.  Must be purchased in person with proof of age such as driver’s license. ACCESS PASS – Available FREE of charge to US citizens that have been medically determined to have a permanent disability that severely limits one or more major life activities.  Must be maintained in person with written proof of disability.

Directions: From Stanley:Drive 11 miles east on Highway 75 to the Sunbeam Dam overlook. Turn left onto forest road #013 for about 11 miles. Campground is on the left.From Challis:Drive 42 miles west on Highway 75 to the Sunbeam Dam overlook. Turn right onto forest road #013 for about 11 miles. Campground is on the left.
