Yankee Fork Drainage


The Yankee Fork of the Salmon has a rich history in it's many uses by settlers and prospectors.  Custer Townsite and the Yankee Fork Dredge are two major attractions.  You can stay at one of many campgrounds in the area or enjoy both motorized and non-motorized trails.

Dispersed Camping

Dispersed camping is allowed throughout this area.  You will find many places along roadways that you can pull off and camp.  As a general rule, many roads allow dispersed camping up to 300 feet from the centerline of the road.  Please refer to our most current travel plan for any restrictions to off road travel.
