Lake Tecumseh

This is a very shallow (approximately 4 feet of less) lake. It was constructed for flood control purposes. Water levels fluctuate widely and sport fish population are marginal.

Restrictions: Anglers must not use more than 2 poles and each pole must not have more than 2 hooks or lures attached while fishing. Limits
  • Largemouth Bass & Channel Catfish: 6 daily creel limit 
  • Largemouth Bass: 15 minimum length.
Motor Restrictions:  Motor use is limited to a maximum of ten horsepower.
Information Center: There are no camping sites located at the lake Species Present:  Bluegill-Largemouth Bass-Channel Catfish-Crappie. Seasons:  Open year round. Vehicle Access:  A gravel road provides fair access to the lake. Boat Access:  An unimproved boat launch provides boat access to the lake. Fishing from small carry in boats fitted with electric motors is the perferred way to fish this lake.

To reach this remote Hardin County lake, visitors must travel several miles of remote unimproved gravel roads. Contact the Vienna Ranger District for directions at (618) 658-2111.
