Fees  Turkey Bayou is a no-fee campground.
Permit Info: Anglers must not use more than 2 poles and each pole must not have more than 2 hooks or lures attached while fishing. Limits
  • Channel Catfish: 6 fish daily creel limit 
  • Largemouth Bass: 15 minimum length.
Motor Restrictions:  Electric motors only.
Information Center: Species Present:  Sunfish-Largemouth Bass-Channel Catfish. Seasons:  Open year round. Vehicle Access:  Forest Service Road 786, a gravel road leading to the lake provides good access. Boat Access:  An unimproved boat launch provides boat access to the Big Muddy River.

General Information

Directions:

Travel west from Murphysboro on Route 13 to Route 3, the Great River Road. Head south on Route 3 to Forest Service Route 786 leading to the Oakwood Bottoms Interpretative Site. Continue west on Forest Service Route 786 approximately 6 miles to the lake.
