One Horse Gap Lake

Named after the nearby One Horse Gap rock formation, this 26-acre lake is a favorite during hot summer days for a cool dip and for primitive camping and horseback riding throughout the year.

Restrictions: Anglers must not use more than 2 poles and each pole must not have more than 2 hooks or lures attached while fishing. Limits
  • Largemouth Bass & Channel Catfish: 6 daily creel limit 
  • Largemouth Bass: 15 minimum length
 
Motor Restrictions:  Electric motors only.
Information Center: A primitive camping site is located near the lakeshore. Species Present:  Bluegill-Largemouth Bass-Channel Catfish. Seasons:  Open year round. Vehicle Access:  A gravel road leading to the lake provides good all weather access. Boat Access:  An unimproved boat landing provides access to the lake. Fishing from small carry in boats fitted with electric motors is the preferred way to fish this lake.

Directions:

From Vienna: Take highway 146 east 30 miles (passing through Golconda,) to Lusk Road. Turn north onto Lusk Rd. and go 4.25 miles to the crossroads of Lusk Rd and Dutton Chapel Rd. To reach One Horse Gap Trail, continue straight through the crossroads, for 1.5 miles. The trail access point is on the left side of the road.
